Visit Santa’s Chalet
It wouldn’t be the holidays without a snapshot with Old Saint Nick! This year, Yorkdale’s Santa Chalet debuts on November 12th and it’s open to holiday enthusiasts of all ages – whether it’s little ones with “Wish Lists” or grown-ups looking to snap selfies at the Instagram-able nook.
Santa will be hosting a bunch of very merry events in the chalet, as well as pet photo nights on select evenings (by appointment only). To make sure everyone’s included in the fun, Yorkdale has partnered with Autism Ontario to make a Sensitive Santa available for pictures on November 30th from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. Don’t forget to post about your visit on social media using the tag #SantasChaletYKD!
A Very Festive (Digital) Holiday Tree
A showstopper attraction is the Coach Holiday Tree – a glorious 30-foot digital tree featuring an animated light show. It’s set to be unveiled on November 20th, courtesy of Coach – the global design house of modern luxury leather goods, apparel, and lifestyle accessories.
Coach is also hosting a holiday pop-up event from December 3 to 15, featuring bags, ready-to-wear and small leather goods, and other “giftables” featuring the brand’s iconic Horse and Carriage motif. Join the carolers singing jolly tunes, enter to win a handbag from the Coach collection, and hand-paint with Toronto artist Chris Nevin.
Plentiful Parking Support
Yorkdale has come up with some ingenious ways of making parking a cinch this holiday season. For one, your odds of finding a spot are excellent given that Yorkdale has over 8,000 parking spaces – more than any other shopping centre in Toronto.
There’s also a ton of parking support available for shoppers. Every weekend leading up to Christmas and on select days, Yorkdale’s Parking Concierges will be outside directing drivers to the parking areas with the greatest availability. With a few clicks on the keyboard, you can also access virtual parking support. Rather than drive around in circles, search the parking page on Yorkdale.com before or upon arrival. Located in the top left portion of the screen, it displays real-time availability, so you can see which lots have the greatest open spaces and plan ahead. You can also message Yorkdale’s virtual Parking Concierge through Yorkdale.com for more personal support before arrival. They’ll be your parking spirit guide!
Don’t want to deal with parking? For a small fee of $15, one of Yorkdale’s valet attendants will park your car. After you’re done for the day, just notify the attendants 10 minutes before departure and they’ll have your vehicle waiting for you. Or relax in the Valet Lounge – an elegant space with comfy seating areas for customers.
Valet parking customers also get the added luxury of a “bag valet” – meaning you can drop off your parcels to be delivered to your vehicle. Let Yorkdale do the heavy lifting, so you can shop ‘till you drop – hands-free!
Restaurant RetreatWhen a snack attack hits, step away from the holiday hustle and dine at one of the 18 sit-down restaurants: from vegan eats and treats at the new by CHLOE to conveyor-belt sushi at Tora Aburi by Miku to over 50 signature cheesecakes and desserts at The Cheesecake Factory. For easy reservations, just check in with Yorkdale guest services or live-chat with a concierge to book your table. If you’re on-the-go, there are also plenty of takeout options, such as The Village Juicery, Good Karma, Su & Shi, Chatime Innovation Bar and more.
Black Friday Bonanza
Yorkdale is really the place to be for Black Friday shopping given all the inventory and promotions that debut on this landmark shopping day. It’s no wonder that shoppers flock here: Yorkdale has one of the broadest selections of exclusive, first-to-Canada brands, as well as an unrivalled mix of retailers offering the world’s trendiest technology and high-end fashion. Plus, the shopping centre is built to handle the holiday hordes, with Yorkdale’s extra-wide corridors making it easy to meander the mall.
