Beyond Borders

Entering its 12th season, Toronto Summer Music Festival (TSM) is one of the city’s most eagerly-awaited classical music events with concerts performed by Canadian and international artists, plus guest lectures and masterclasses.

This year’s theme, Beyond Borders will explore and celebrate the cross-cultural influences that have pervaded classical music from the era of Mozart and Mahler to the brilliant composers of today. Opening night festivities will be hosted by Tom Allen featuring Adrianne Pieczonka, Jon Kimura Parker, Kerson Leong, Steven Philcox and the JUNO award-winning New Orford String Quartet. The festival continues with the spectacular lineup of Canadian pianist Angela Hewitt performing Bach’s “Goldberg Variations”, Art of Time Ensemble reviving its favourite and highly-praised programs, including tributes to Glenn Gould and Lou Reed with singers Sarah Slean and John Southworth, renowned countertenor Daniel Taylor and world premieres by Canadian composers Alexina Louie and Christos Hatzis and more terrific artists from around the world. Join in the celebration of great music! Individual tickets are available online at The Royal Conservatory and festival passes can be purchased by visiting the box office or calling The Royal Conservatory.
