Held on the first weekend of June. The Bread & Honey Festival happens on the first weekend of June and is Mississauga’s longest running festival. It commemorates the founding of the historic Village of Streetsville. The Festival provides an affordable, fun-filled, family event, where all ages can enjoy a wide variety of activities and entertainment. There is a parade through Streetsville, leading to Memorial Park, Vic Johnson’s Community Centre and Streetsville Arena. Highlights include children’s activities including a fishing derby, a petting zoo and live entertainment. Other traditions are the Lions Club Carnival, Rotary Consumer Market, crafters market, heritage games, displays and demonstrations. There is a wide variety of food, buskers, musical talent, even a 5km and 15km road race, and of course, free bread and honey for everyone!
