Dame Edna’s Glorious Goodbye – The Farewell Tour
April 9 – 19, 2015
Undaunted by the scurrilous and ungenerous attacks on her artistic integrity and personal morals by American tabloid television, Dame Edna Everage returns to the ailing Canadian stage determined to counter their libelous character assassinations with some home truths, however painful.
In an unprecedentedly frank encounter with her public, she exposes hitherto unseen parts of herself as she comes clean about the personal disappointments that have dogged her rise to megastardom and selfless public service.
Finally, emboldened by the endorphic rush of honesty, she takes her public with her on a spiritual journey worth far more than the price of the ticket. Psychic, karmic goddess, guru and spiritual guide, Dame Edna navigates a journey to personal fulfillment and enlightenment for the entire audience.
TITANIC: THE MUSICAL
May 19 – June 21, 2015
Ben Heppner, the greatest opera tenor of his generation, will be joining the cast of the new production of the Tony Award-winning Best Musical TITANIC.
Heppner will play the role of Isidor Straus, a prominent U.S. politician and businessman. Among his many accomplishments and business holdings, he was the co-owner of Macy’s department store. With his wife Ida, he was among the wealthy and famous members of society who wanted to be the first to sail on the maiden voyage of the unsinkable RMS Titanic.
The haunting story of the great ship Titanic is transformed by composer and lyricist Maury Yeston (Nine, Grand Hotel) into a riveting musical in which the hopes and dreams of rich and poor, heroes and cowards, lovers and foes are woven together in a celebration of the human spirit.
Before the famed blockbuster movie hit the screens, the original Broadway production proved its might by winning 5 Tony® awards, including Best Musical. Now, Toronto audiences will be the first city to experience the launch of this acclaimed London revival at the Princess of Wales Theatre.
