Fort York National Historic Site
Visit the site of the 1813 Battle of York and the birthplace of urban Toronto. Fort York is home to Canada’s largest collection of original War of 1812 buildings which now house exhibits and restored period room settings.
The Fort York Visitor Centre is now open on the south side of Garrison Common. Designed by the award-winning Canadian team of Patkau Architects Inc / Kearns Mancini Architects Inc, this new facility helps the Fort tell its 200-year story and orient visitors to the entire 43-acre National Historic Site.
