Queen + Adam Lambert

Due to overwhelming demand, a second show in Toronto, ON has been added to the Queen + Adam Lambert summer tour. Brian May, Roger Taylor + Adam Lambert will now wrap their 24-date tour at Air Canada Centre on Monday, July 28. The tour is presented by Live Nation.

Queen + Adam Lambert received glowing reviews for their performance together at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas last September, triggering a conversation between Adam, Roger and Brian to take the show on the road. Rolling Stone said, “Lambert astounded the audience on songs like ‘We Will Rock You’ and the closing ‘We Are The Champions’ and ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’. It was the most anticipated act of the night.” Billboard claimed, “…Queen effectively stole the show, with timeless songs that music fans of all genres can sing along to” and the Hollywood Reporter exclaimed, “Adam Lambert, Queen bring down the iHeart house. With the perfect mix of rock attitude mixed with style, theatricality, sex appeal and impressive vocal gymnastics, [Lambert] took the band’s music to new heights.”

Nine Inch Nails & Soundgarden

Trent Reznor is back from the depths with his strangulating, pulsating music sure to send every heart beating and ravaged with music that will even cause trepidations within the most tenacious souls. Reznor during his hiatus from Nine Inch Nails has done some soundtrack work notably for movie The Social Network. The man who wailed the words “Head Like a Hole” will surely send shivers down every spine.

Chris Cornell and the boys are back with their thunderous rock. Their best CD Superunknown charted several signals including “My Wave,” “Black Hole Sun,” and “Spoon Man.” Cornell can scream with the best of rock’s heavy weights including the iconic Robert Plant and Ozzy Osbourne. The guitar riffs of Kim Thayil accompanied with the unequalled vocals of Cornell has transported Soundgarden into the strastosphere.

David Newland – Summer Sunday Music Series

Sunday, July 27, 3pm – Trinity Square

Ontario folk-roots performer David Newland combines catchy melodies, poetic imagery, and a passion for the Canadian experience.

A seasoned storyteller, David draws on his experiences as a tree planter, hitch hiker, canoeist and Zodiac pilot in his engaging stage patter.

Songs from David Newland’s new album, ‘Give it A Whirl’ have been heard on CBC Radio, Galaxie, and folk-roots radio shows nationwide. He wrote the theme song to the railway documentary, “Canada’s Greatest Ride”, shown nationally on CTV and Discovery Channel.

David’s music has taken him on some amazing journeys: from a freighter canoe excursion on Lake Superior, to a 12-day trans-Canada train trip, to a series of expedition cruises in the Far North. In the spring of 2014 he toured living rooms and art galleries in northern Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

This summer, David Newland will host the main stage at both Mariposa Folk Festival (Orillia) and Summerfolk (Owen Sound)—between ocean adventures to Sable Island, Greenland, and the Northwest Passage.

An award-winning writer and blogger, David has published poetry, commentary, and short stories, and is currently working on his first novel.
