July 5 – August 23, 2014. Sponsored by the Toronto Sun, the 18th Annual Great Ontario Salmon Derby is North America’s largest freshwater fishing derby and takes place in the Canadian waters of Lake Ontario attracting participants from Florida, Arizona, Michigan and other US States. They also have participants from England, Germany & Italy on a regular basis. The Derby boasts an average participation of 21,000 people annually over a 50 day period. Fishermen/women compete for various weekly prizes including cash, tackle, rods, reels and for the heaviest salmon caught every week. The event is climaxed with a Fish-off for the 70 prize winners preceding the Awards Ceremony, September 13, 2014. Hockey’s first 3D film combines a stunning mix of original live action, computer generated 3D animation and classic archival footage from some of the most renowned moments in Stanley Cup history – the film literally jumps off the screen. Hockey like you’ve never seen before!
The 22 minute film plays at the top and half past the hour in the Hockey Hall of Fame’s new TSN Theatre and is included in the price of general admission.
