11:00 am. Experience the tour that major media publications from around the world experience…the Foodies on Foot Insider Favourites Food Tour. Everyone loves having an insider. A person that can take them to the hidden gems that only a local industry insider knows. Come with us as we take you to some of our favourite gourmet and specialty food stores and discover many of the distinct neighbourhoods we frequent daily. We will be taking you to 5-7 food merchants and have you discover a few neighbourhoods while having the chance to ride the TTC. This tour is constantly changing, as, we have several favourites in different neighbourhoods, so, no two tours are exactly alike.
Sunday June 2, 2013. 10:00 a.m. To 3:00 p.m. The event of early summer! This self-guided tour brings visitors along the charming
tree-lined streets of Cabbagetown – where most homes date from the late 1800s – and
through quiet back lanes, to hidden alcoves of greenery.
Visit ten (10) unique urban gardens from the quaint to the quirky. Most gardens can
only be entered from pleasant back lanes which, at the turn of the 20th century, were
used by delivery carts or wagons filled with ice, coal, bread, or milk. Many lanes were
given intriguing names: Yen, Magic, Gordon Sinclair or Chipping Sparrow.
Proud gardeners will be on site to answer questions about the creative use of small
spaces, the challenges of urban wildlife, (raccoons, skunks, squirrels, coyotes,
opossums, etc.) and choices of plants and other materials. But first and foremost,
admire the fruit of their labour.
The ticket contains a map that will show you where the various gardens on this year’s
tour are. Start and finish where you want – there is no “official” circuit. Volunteers (and
balloon bouquets) will also be on hand to guide you.
This year, Michael Hepburn of Hepburn Landscape Contractors will be our guest
gardening expert to answer questions about gardens and garden design.
A garden tour ticket costs $15:00. Tickets are sold at various
outlets throughout the city and from our website using PayPal.

Toronto’s newest and tallest attraction has adventure lovers taking a walk OUTSIDE – around the circumference of the roof! So, do you dare to test your limits and experience the thrill of a lifetime?
EdgeWalk is CN Tower’s most thrilling attraction in its 35 year history, and the first of its kind in North America. It is the world’s highest full circle hands-free walk on a 5 ft (1.5 m) wide ledge encircling the top of the Tower’s main pod, 356m/1168ft (116 storeys) above the ground. Visitors walk in groups of six, while attached to an overhead safety rail via a trolley and harness system. Trained EdgeWalk guides will encourage participants to push their personal limits, allowing them to lean back over Toronto with nothing but air and breathtaking views of Lake Ontario beneath them.
Visit the EdgeWalk site for more information and to book your adventure today!
One of the greatest ways to explore the city is walking at street level through Toronto’s neighbourhoods. Guided walking tours are offered for free by ROMwalks every Wednesday evening and Sunday afternoon from May through October. Tour leaders from the Royal Ontario Museum’s (ROM) Department of Museum Volunteers present thoroughly researched guided tours through some of the city’s most distinctive neighbourhoods, visit historic landmarks and illuminate the architectural and historical significance of Toronto’s building.
All ROMwalks are free and no reservations are needed, with the exception for ROMwalk Plus walks.
See www.rom.on.ca/en/activities-programs/bus-walks-travel for more details.
