the toronto sketch comedy festival

The mandate of the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival is three-fold: to provide a big, public showcase for sketch comedy in Toronto;
to deliver relevant professional development to artists; and
to create opportunities for positive networking and exchange among comedic writer-performers.

We currently do this by producing the annual Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival in March (TOsketchfest), The Best of the Fest Encore Show in June, and Sketch ComAgeddon in October.

Genreally speaking, sketch comedy is any funny performance that is written, rehearsed and performed by a cast of comedians. It’s like Saturday Night Live, or SCTV, or Kids in the Hall. It’s not stand-up or improv.

And no, it’s not funny pencil drawings on the wall. Seriously, someone asked us that once.
