International Red Panda Day

Red Panda Exhibit, Eurasia

Did you know the red panda is the original panda and was discovered almost 50 years before the giant panda? Learn all about these amazing and endangered creatures and meet our red pandas! Don’t miss a special meet-the-keeper talk plus enrichment feeding at 12:00 noon and 3:00 pm and bid on fun prizes in a panda-themed silent auction. All proceeds support the Red Panda Network, an organization committed to the conservation of wild red pandas and their habitat.

E-waste Collection Event In Support of Toronto Zoo PhoneApes Program

9:30 am to 4:00 pm

Bring your e-waste to the Toronto Zoo on September 27th and help support great ape conservation. This event, in support of PhoneApes and National Forestry Week, helps to promote the importance of protecting and replanting forests for ecosystem protection, wildlife conservation and climate change. In particular this event directly correlates to the message of protecting the forest habitat of great apes in our PhoneApes program. September is also a good time of year for e-waste collection as new students return to school many old e-waste products are being discarded.

The Toronto Zoo will be accepting Monitors, TVs, Computers, Notebooks, Servers, Wire, Aluminum, Keyboards, Mice, Electronic Scrap, Small Appliances, Laptops, Tablets and, of course, Cellphones! The collection truck will be located on the side walk near the drop-off-loop at the zoo’s front entrance. All participants that drop of an e-waste item will receive a coupon for 25% off at the Zoo’s gift shops.

Francophonie en fête

Francophonie en Fête is a not for profit organization that celebrates the diversity of francophone and francophile community of the Greater Toronto through the presentation an annual musical festival. The main mission of the festival is to reinforce the identity and the feeling of belonging of the francophone community and to develop as well the pride to be francophone, especially in minority situation. We wish to support the French language in Ontario by organizing in the GTA events that value our diverse francophone cultures. This is how, in the past editions of the festival, we have welcomed more than 7,000 spectators.
