Did you know that tigers are declared a critically endangered species and that the Amur, Sumatran and Malayan tiger population are fewer than 500 in the wild? The tiger populations are threatened by habitat loss and degradation, poaching, tiger-human conflict, loss of prey and other factors. Find out how you can commit to conservation efforts to help this extremely endangered species at home and abroad.
PLUS enjoy a special meet-the-keeper talk at 1:30pm and a special training demonstration at 2:30pm at the Sumatran Tiger Exhibit.

CHINESE ARTS COMMUNITY IN TORONTO CELEBRATES FAMOUS PEOPLE PLAYERS 40th ANNIVERSARY – SATURDAY JULY 26 – CHINESE EXTRAVANGANZA
Famous PEOPLE Players is a world renowned Canadian BLACKLIGHT theatre company who have enchanted millions from the Great Wall of China to Broadway. Famous PEOPLE Players was the first Western Act to be invited by the government of the People’s Republic of China to perform across China & Hong Kong a CBC 2 hour television special was made about this historical visit.
What you see is SENSATIONAL, what you don’t see is INSPIRATIONAL as the majority of the cast are people who are developmentally challenged.
2 Hong Kong Interns from the Hong Kong Baptist University are organizing the first CHINESE NIGHT for Famous PEOPLE Players 40th Anniversary to raise funds for the company’s Exceptional Achievement Program which allows new members to join the troupe. This exciting FUNraiser has rallied up some of the most talented Chinese Performers in the Toronto area.
The Toronto Chinese Dance Company will perform a tribute to China followed by a spectacular performance by Canada’s Official Lion & Dragon Dance Team – The Wushu Project. Famous PEOPLE Players will perform their Broadway production to the music and sounds from Italy.

The event will offer rare insight to the unique roles the Zoo Keeper plays within your zoo. Come on out and catch a Meet-the-Keeper Talk, join us at our educational booth in the Discovery Zone to see the tools of the trade, learn about keeper conservation initiatives and participate in children’s activities.
Join us in the Waterside Theatre, daily, at 12:00 noon where you will be able to participate in a special game that mimics Zoo Keeper work. Then watch as Zoo staff compete through demonstrations and in challenges to show you what it really takes to be a keeper. Show our Zoo Keepers how much you appreciate and support them by bringing a special card to say thank you for everything they do! When you bring in a card your name will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a family pack of passes to the Zoo!

The ever popular GWN Sport Regatta returns to the Western Beaches Watercourse at Marilyn Bell Park in Toronto, site of the 2006 Club Crew World Championships and the 2011 ICF World Championships. Teams can register into the Sport Division or the Community Division.

INDYCAR has officially announced its 2014 series schedule will feature TWO full length, points awarding IndyCar Series races in Toronto once again-one on July 19 and one on July 20 next summer.
The weekend festival runs July 18 – 20 at Exhibition Place, with expanded city-wide events taking place the whole week long. With the help of fan feedback, we are working to confirm a support series schedule packed with varied types of action on the track, and continue to focus on the off-track festival of craft beer, specialty food trucks, adrenaline filled stunt shows, exhibits, contests and entertainment.
