It’s playtime! The Second City’s performers lace up their sneakers and reach deep into their imaginations to present The Absolutely Positively Completely Made-Up Show! It’s an hour of interactive, family-friendly games and laughs. Young audience members are encouraged to shout out ideas and even join the fun on stage!

On May 11, 2013, over 300 student athletes from 12 provinces and territories will gather for a track and field experience like no other. It’s a chance for high school athletes from across Canada to come together in competition, celebration, and team pride. Male and female high school teams, selected from each provincial or territorial school sports association will take part in 10 events testing their abilities and dedication. They’ll also enjoy a weekend full of activities including fun tours of the city, educational panels, and social events.

In one amazing weekend, students, coaches and friends will gather to represent the best in athletics – and so much more.

14th Annual International Migratory Bird Day

9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
This year’s theme is “Life Cycles of Migratory Birds: Conservation Across the Americas”. This theme addresses the need for conservation throughout all aspects of their life cycle, from nesting to migration to breeding and raising young. One and two hour guided bird watching tours of the Rouge Valley and around the Zoo site will be conducted on the hour from 7:00 am to 12 noon. Tours are $10.00 per person. Science Rendez-Vous Event

10:00am to 3:00pm.
University of Toronto Scarborough Campus (UTSC) students from the Let’s Talk Science program will join the Toronto Zoo for a third year, in helping to bring science to life. The event is a part of Science Rendezvous, a national day of festivities celebrating science across Canada. A number of UTSC student volunteers will lead activities and displays from 10:00am to 3:00pm to encourage Zoo visitors to think about what makes animals so amazing and unique through the prism of science. South Asian Day

Bring out the whole family to enjoy a day filled with art, music and dance all focused on South Asia. On Saturday May 11, 2013 from 10am to 5pm the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) will celebrate South Asian Heritage Day – a day full of live performances, hands-on activities for kids, shopping, dining and more.

The ROM has partnered with Ethnic Marketing to present this special day of South Asian heritage programming. Heritage Days at the ROM provide a unique opportunity for Canadians to celebrate and learn about their own and other cultures.

The festivities will encompass a variety of activities, such as classical and folk dances, which will also be accompanied by musical performances. Visitors can participate in a variety of interactive activities such as miniature painting, authentic Mughal art and calligraphy, Rangoli floor art as well as block printing and textile crafts. Additionally, the ROMs Food Studio will play host to a variety of South Asian cuisines.

Game On 2.0: An Exhibition

The world’s largest celebration of video games making its first Canadian appearance, Game On 2.0 features game design, development, and production including multiplayer games, handheld devices, original concept and character art, and the history’s most influential arcade machines. From Pong to Guitar Hero; the Ontario Science Centre will host Game On 2.0 which offers a hands-on exploration of video game history and culture. Visitors will experience more than 60 years of gaming entertainment and technology; from the very first commercial coin-operated game to the latest in virtual reality and 3D gaming.

Game On 2.0 tracks the development of video games from the earliest computer games to arcade-era hits and the very latest from today’s multi-billion dollar industry with more than 150 playable games from across the history of the medium – including pinball games – as well as rarely-seen consoles, controllers and collectables.

Canada’s Wonderland

Stanley’s Game Seven 3D

NOW PLAYING exclusively at the Hockey Hall of Fame – Stanley’s Game Seven (3D). Hockey’s first 3D film combines a stunning mix of original live action, computer generated 3D animation and classic archival footage from some of the most renowned moments in Stanley Cup history – the film literally jumps off the screen. Hockey like you’ve never seen before!

The 22 minute film plays at the top and half past the hour in the Hockey Hall of Fame’s new TSN Theatre and is included in the price of general admission.
