Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival is an annual event in May with well over 1500 Canadian and international artists and photographers exhibiting at more than 175 venues throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Founded as a not-for-profit organization in 1997 and now a charitable organization, the Festival is devoted to celebrating, and fostering the art and profession of photography, through a diverse range of programmes.
As a leading proponent of photography, the Festival increases exposure and recognition for local, Canadian and international artists and is committed to advancing knowledge, creativity and innovation in photography. It stimulates excitement and discussion among a diverse audience that has grown to over 1.8 million. CONTACT is the largest photography event in the world, and a premiere cultural event in Canada.

Brad Paisley is an American singer-songwriter and a great success story. His genre of music is a morphing of country and Southern rock. His inventive lyrics sometimes inflect humor and references to popular culture adding to his uniqueness. In 2008 he garnered the CMA and ACM Male Vocalist of the Year award. He has launched an impressive 32 singles on to the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart with 18 reaching the apex of number one.

The Junction Business Improvement Area is pleased to launch another year of Photography in the Junction – part of Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival.
From May 1 – 31, the Junction will be home to 18 venues showcasing the fine photographic works of over 20 artists. Come stroll Toronto’s emerging art and design destination and discover a collection of unique pop-up galleries ranging from cafes to restaurants to retail stores. On May 4th you will be able to enjoy the opening receptions for several photography shows at these galleries along Dundas St. West at Keele St. and have the chance to appreciate the artists and their work.
Furthermore, please join us for our opening gala reception on Saturday May 4th from 6PM to 10PM at Dundas St. W and Pacific Ave. for an evening dedicated to celebrating Photography in the Junction. Casa Loma is pleased to offer an ARchery Workshop. Join our NCCP trained archery coach, Shawn Adams, for an opportunity to learn the history and techniques involved in the ancient sport of archery. This hands-on workshop is suited to beginners and will afford all participants the chance to develop and hone their archery skills.

In 1991, Inside Out celebrated its first film and video festival with a small community of people who yearned to see film and video created by and about lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans (LGBT) people. Over the next two decades, the Festival grew in scope as well as attendance, becoming the largest event of its kind in Canada and one of the top five LGBT film festivals in the world. Taking place over 11 days, the Festival draws crowds of close to 35,000 to screenings, artist talks, panel discussions, installations and parties that highlight more than 200 films and videos from Canada and around the world. In 2009 Inside Out welcomed RBC Royal Bank as the Presenting Sponsor for the Festival and in 2011, the Festival moved its screening to the state-of-the-art TIFF Bell Lightbox, increasing its attendance, media coverage and industry presence and solidifying Inside Out’s reputation as an international leader in the presentation of queer film.

May 23 – June 2, 2013. Join Inside Out for the 23rd anniversary edition of Canada’s largest lesbian and gay film festival. Over 11 days, the festival draws audiences of more than 30,000 to an array of events including parties, panels and screenings of Canadian and international films.

May 31 – June 2, 2013. The Bread & Honey Festival happens on the first weekend of June and is Mississauga’s longest running festival. It commemorates the founding of the historic Village of Streetsville. The Festival provides an affordable, fun-filled, family event, where all ages can enjoy a wide variety of activities and entertainment. There is a parade through Streetsville, leading to Memorial Park, Vic Johnson’s Community Centre and Streetsville Arena. Highlights include children’s activities including a fishing derby, a petting zoo and live entertainment. Other traditions are the Lions Club Carnival, Rotary Consumer Market, crafters market, heritage games, displays and demonstrations. There is a wide variety of food, buskers, musical talent, even a 5km and 15km road race, and of course, free bread and honey for everyone!
