8pm. An icon in American popular culture and one of the greatest treasures in music, Willie Nelson is a living legend whose career has spanned over six decades. With 2,500 songs in his nearly 300-album discography and multiple Grammy’s, American Music Awards, and Country Music Awards under his belt, Nelson’s credentials are formidable.

The prolific artist has sold more than 40 million records in the United States and is well known as an activist for his contributions to social causes. In 2004, his hit “On the Road Again” was ranked among the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time by Rolling Stone. In 1961, he wrote “Crazy,” which became a career-changing song for Patsy Cline. Nelson is also known for perhaps the most memorable version of “Always On My Mind” ever recorded.

lson’s critical success in country music is largely due to his unique country sound, which fuses jazz, blues, pop, rock, and folk. To celebrate his 80th birthday this year, Let’s Face The Music and Dance, a collaboration by Willie Nelson and Family, will be released on April 16.
