You’ll enjoy many of opera’s greatest hits on this melodious programme, from the merry overture to The Marriage of Figaro, to Offenbach’s lilting barcarolle, and the instantly recognizable Flower Duet from Lakmé. The orchestral selections are equally alluring, including Tchaikovsky’s soaring portrait of the ‘starcrossed’ young lovers, Romeo and Juliet.

Come for: Two brilliant singers bring their blossoming artistry to the TSO.

And more: In 2009, the young Portuguese conductor, Joana Carneiro, was appointed Music Director of California’s Berkeley Symphony, in succession to Kent Nagano.

Light Classics concerts feature a varied selection of classical favourites and include engaging introductions about the music from the stage. You’re sure to leave the performance humming!
